Execution of Rural Development projects concentrating  on Labour  intensive  works so  that rural   un-employed and under employed are provided with adequate employment opportunities to improve their  economic conditions.

To undertake  all   rural development construction  works directly by eliminating middlemen, i.e., contractors to avoid exploitation of the   rural  poor,  thereby passing on the full worth of money to the people.

Help to build infrastructure which is vital for development. Projects relating  to Integrated  Area   Development, Water resources Development, Dairy, Fisheries, Minor Irrigation, Rural Communication, bridges, buildings like schools, hospitals, houses, forestation and soil conservation works are undertaken by KRIDL.

The Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Ltd has achieved a total progress of Rs. 205.05 crores during financial year 2005-06 and is intended to achieve the progress of Rs. 400.00 crores in 2006-07 which entirely depends upon the funds flow from the works awarded agencies.

 At present due to Government Transparency Act, we are not getting works directly through entrustment , as such the KRIDL is now participating in tenders by competitive rates, till date 116 works are awarded at the cost of Rs.152.31 Crores.
